Mashrek Music Academy Starts New Era
Based at the Mashrek International School, the academy has been founded by the school and former pupil, international pianist Iyad Sughayer.
It was very inspiring working with those young musicians who were so talented and through teaching them, I was reminded of the same musical struggles I had experienced whilst growing up in Amman. This lead me to the idea of setting up a music school there as the best way to ensure a good musical education and a solid foundation for the students.
“It is my dream for this music academy to offer a world class classical music education so that future generations will not need to leave their home as I had to in order to pursue an excellent musical education.”
I knew that a project like this would require a partner organisation, so I proposed my idea to my former secondary school who had supported me during my early years in Jordan. So for the last two years, the Mashrek International School and I have been working tirelessly to establish the new Mashrek Academy of Music. It offers a coherent programme of study and will focus on all aspects of a musical education. We opened our doors in September 2022 and welcome musicians of any age and any level!

Understanding the benefits a musical education offers our students is at the very heart of why, as we approach 30 years of excellence, the Mashrek International School has launched the Mashrek Academy of Music.
We’d love to talk to you about nurturing your child’s musical education – contact us here for more information.
