Chosen as ‘One to Watch’ by International Piano Magazine, Iyad’s debut album Khachaturian Piano Works for BIS Records was described by Gramophone as “…exhilarating and delivered with perfect clarity…” and “…an outstanding debut…” by BBC Music Magazine. Iyad’s second recording for BIS with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Andrew Litton was released to critical acclaim in autumn 2022. In October 2025, Iyad will record the third and final disc, completing the complete piano music of Khachaturian on BIS. Iyad has performed throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and the USA, appearing at major venues including Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg and The Bridgewater Hall. As a soloist, he has performed with leading orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Manchester Camerata, London Mozart Players and European Union Chamber Orchestra. A graduate and Associate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Iyad co-founded Mashrek Academy of Music in 2022. As Director of Music, he leads the Academy’s artistic and educational development and is committed to nurturing the next generation of young musicians in Jordan.

Narmeen is a violinist and music educator with a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance from the National Music Conservatory. She performs regularly with orchestras across Europe and the Middle East and is deeply committed to instrumental pedagogy and creating opportunities for young musicians to learn, collaborate and perform together.

Narmeen joined Mashrek Academy of Music in 2025 and leads its educational programmes while overseeing the Academy’s day-to-day operations. She works closely with faculty, students and parents to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum, maintain high standards of teaching and support each student’s musical development. She also coordinates the Academy’s activities, performances and ensembles, helping to create a welcoming, organised and inspiring environment for the entire MAM community.

Ms Aya joined Mashrek Academy of Music in 2023 and serves as the Academy Coordinator. She oversees the Academy’s timetables and day-to-day administration, working closely with the Academy Manager and Director of Music to ensure its activities run smoothly. As the main point of contact for parents, she plays an important role in maintaining clear communication between families, teachers and the Academy’s leadership team.

Yusor is a passionate pianist and dedicated piano teacher who graduated with honours from the University of Jordan and is currently completing her master’s degree. She holds international qualifications in piano performance and is an active performer and accompanist across Amman.

Known for her warm and understanding approach, Yusor has a particular gift for connecting with younger learners and creating lessons that are both structured and joyful. Her teaching combines strong musical foundations with creativity, encouraging students to develop secure technique, confidence and a lasting enjoyment of music. She works closely with each student to understand their individual needs and helps them progress through patient guidance, clear goals and positive encouragement.

Zein is a pianist and music teacher with a passion for making music accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful for every student. With teaching experience in Jordan, England, and France, she brings a multicultural perspective to her teaching and enjoys helping young musicians build both technical skills and confidence across a variety of musical genres. Alongside teaching piano and music theory, she performs regularly in solo, accompaniment, and orchestral settings.

Tarek is a composer, pianist, and Middle Eastern ethnomusicologist, involved in many facets of culture in Jordan and beyond. Since completing his education in 2002 at Trinity Laban College of Music and SOAS, supported by a Chevening Scholarship, he has worked across education, curation, social welfare projects, performance, and music production. Over the years, he has collaborated with cultural institutions including the Jordan River Foundation, the King Hussein Foundation, Haya Cultural Centre, and various EU Cultural Institutes, schools, and colleges. He currently works as a published composer and pianist, and serves as music curator and organiser of the Amman Music Society.

Yousef Musharbash is a professional pianist, arranger and bandleader with a master’s degree from Berklee College of Music. Trained in jazz, Middle Eastern music and popular styles, he has performed at concerts and festivals and collaborated with artists across the Middle East and Europe. Yousef joined Mashrek Academy of Music in 2026, teaching students through individual piano lessons while introducing them to jazz piano, improvisation and creative musicianship. His broad musical experience enables students to explore a variety of styles while developing strong technical and musical foundations.

Salah is a classical guitarist and guitar teacher. He began playing guitar in 2015 and focused on classical guitar studies in 2018. In 2020, he started a bachelor’s in Guitar performance at The University of Jordan and since 2022 has been teaching classical guitar. Salah is pursuing a Master’s degree in Guitar Performance, continuing his development as both a performer and educator.

Alla Yanisheva is a dedicated and versatile music educator, holding a Master’s degree in Violin from the National Conservatory of Uzbekistan. With extensive teaching experience in violin, piano, music theory, and ear training, she brings a well-rounded approach to her work with students. Alongside her pedagogical career, she is an active performer, regularly participating in concerts and serving as a member of the Amman Chamber Orchestra.

Ribal is a dedicated music teacher with a passion for drums and percussion instruments. He has taught music in various schools and collaborated with numerous venues to arrange performances for bands and ensembles. With his expertise in music theory, composition, and percussion instruments, he has provided one-on-one and group music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Ribal fosters a welcoming and engaging learning environment for his students, encouraging them to develop their musical talents and explore new learning opportunities. As a drummer, Ribal is committed to making a positive impact on his students’ learning journeys and helping them achieve their musical goals. Ribal received his bachelor’s degree in music from the Jordan Academy of Music.
